Las Vegas, an amazing city know for it’s bright lights and gambling halls.   But it is also one of the most diversely beautiful places I’ve gotten to visit.  From desert landscapes like those in Red Rocks Canyon to water sports at Lake Meade to the famous Strip.  This picture is from a series of pictures taken at night in the heart of Las Vegas Blvd.  Make sure to check back soon for the entire series.

John Fey, of the Philadelphia band Ike, stopped by Coffee Works Open Mic night last week with his friend and co-writer Brittany Rotundo. Together they did some of Ike’s songs from their fabulous new album “Tie the Knot, With All that You Got.”

John will be returning to Coffee Works on September 26th when he open for the great Jeffrey Gaines. Click here for ticket and show information.

Meditation is part two  of a two – set companion piece entitled “Contemplation and Meditation” taken on hike through Red Rocks Canyon on the outskirts of Las Vegas in the Mojave Desert.  When you mention Las Vegas to most people the think of the famed Las Vegas Strip.  Most people miss the breathtaking beauty of the area around the city, especially in the desert.  Red Rocks Canyon is one of the largest hiking areas in the Vegas area.  Breathtakingly beautiful, the park varies from the amazing red rock formations you will see in this gallery to the mountains and sequoia cactus located around the park.  I highly suggest to anyone visiting the Las Vegas area to check out Red Rocks Canyon.

In honor of College Football camps opening around the country, this weeks picture is of my favorite team, the Temple Owls, from their 2009 Cherry and White spring game.   The Owls are coming off a 9-4 season and open against Villanova on Friday, September 3rd at 5:00 in the second annual Mayor’s Cup.  Go Owls!!!

We recently shot the first of hopefully many Open Mic nights at Coffee Works, my favorite local coffee shop, which I honestly love mostly for the great live music.  Coffee Works features some of South Jersey best act and Open Mic is a great way to see a lot of them.  They also feature some great nationally known acts such as John Eddie, Jeffrey Gaines and Stephen Forbert.
